outside the windkings rush about and above; inside we tuck in tight til the morrow.
climb, we did, out the small window (into blue fog, into crystal echoes). in tune, we walked to the shore. there is a boat...
...the boat is large and ghostly. a surrealean blue emanates from the sails. the boat is a ship. it sways a bit with the tide.
on the dock sat the whatnow bird. a whatnow bird is a bird that has just left the nest, and stands around, thinking, "what now?"
this particular whatnow bird happened to be standing around on the dock by the ghostly ship, thinking, "what now?" as are we...
the whatnow bird lightly hops onto the ghostly ship. as do we... and we depart. the water is black silk beneath the bow...
as we glide towards the open sea, delphinous creatures with laughing eyes parallel our course. they leap in lazy hyperbolic sines.
the creatures delphine dove beside us, and spoke with silent laughter that we did not hear, but only knew. "kinship, claro..."
'clearly kin' (la delphine rire) 'you is yo y on est uno es one is tous sont todos son all are we' (we know). y on til dawn we go.
a dawn, emergent through a fog of chrome...we find ourselves surrounded by the silent sea (yet our sails are full and fat)...
we sail, @bedtime, for forty days across the slick black sea. It is just after dawn on the forty-first day that we see the island of orbs.
the island of orbs has safe harbor. its orb population gathers with curious convergence. they glow soft naples yellow, and blue.
"are you home now?" ask the orbs. we do not know the answer, yet we do know it, as well. "all is home" the orbs concur.
"if all is home, then why are you all here on one island?" we ask. the orbs laugh at us, delightfully, and float around some more.
the orbs laugh at us, regardless of which question we ask, or in what manner. in this way they make good company, for a time.

Common blue violet - Viola sororia var. sororia Native to U.S., the common blue violet's purple flowers bloom from March to June. It can be a dominant plant in lawns. The leaves are high in Vitamin A and C and can be used in salads or as a green. The English settlers used violets in cosmetics and sweet waters.

The flowers are not often visited by insects (hence the need for cleistogamous flowers), but sometimes they attract bees (e.g., Mason, Halictid), skippers, Syrphid flies, and other insects. The Syrphid flies, however, feed only on stray pollen and are non-pollinating. The caterpillars of many Fritillary butterflies feed on the foliage, including Speyeria diane (Diana), Euptoieta claudia (Variegated Fritillary), Speyeria aphrodite (Aphrodite Fritillary), Boloria bellona (Meadow Fritillary), and BoloriaSmall Plant with Flower selene myrina (Silver-Border Fritillary). The seeds have soft appendages that attract ants, which are in part distributed by them. Various upland gamebirds and small mammals occasionally eat the seeds, including the Wild Turkey, Bobwhite, Mourning Dove, and White-Footed Mouse. Wild Turkeys also eat the leaves and fleshy roots of Viola spp. (Violets). Although it is not a preferred food source, mammalian herbivores occasionally eat the foliage of violets, including the White-Tailed Deer, Cottontail Rabbit, and livestock.
The flowers and young leaves of violets are edible, and can be added to salads in small amounts. The taste is bland.

What I have found today
1)For arthritis.
Put as many slivers of poke root as can be held between the middle finger and thumb of the left hand and cut on each side of the hand. Cut these pieces in half and put in a quart of whiskey and let stand for seven days. Take a tablespoon 3 times daily for 7 days. Rest a few days and repeat.

comes from following only the Tao;

Even though the Tao is intangible and evasive,
we are able to know it exists.

Within it we can find order.
Since the beginning of time, the Tao has always existed.
It is beyond existing and not existing .
How do I know where creation comes from?

It is the secret of prime importance.

it is not a thing of great pride.
When the battle is over,
arrogance is the new enemy.
War can result when no other alternative is given,
so the one who overcomes an enemy should not dominate them.

This is not the way of the Tao.

Returning clippings to the turf Returning clippings to the turf has several benefits. It obviously eliminates the need for disposal in landfills and also reduces the time and energy required to transport clippings to composting facilities. In addition, when clippings are returned to the turf, the consumer does not bear the cost of commercial composting.
When clippings are returned, a small quantity of organic matter and substantial quantities of mineral nutrients are returned to the soil, contributing to improved soil conditions. In one Colorado study, the annual quantity of nutrients produced in clippings from 1,000 square feet of highly-fertilized Kentucky bluegrass turf was 5.7 pounds of nitrogen (N), 0.6 pounds of phosphorus (P), and 3.4 pounds potassium (K). Even when grown at very low fertility, 1,000 square feet of Kentucky bluegrass clippings annually yielded 1.0 pound N, 0.1 pound P, and 0.7 pound K. The result of returning clippings is that mineral fertilization can be reduced while still producing turf of high quality.
With regards to minerals, the benefits of returning clippings can occur quickly. When returned into a healthy turfgrass growing environment, clippings were found to release nutrients into soil in as little as fourteen days in another study, .
Not collecting clippings also saves time and expense. Mowing is not interrupted for emptying grass catchers. The Colorado study discussed earlier found that 1,000 square feet of highly fertilized Kentucky bluegrass yielded 529 pounds of clippings in one year. If clippings were collected, work stoppage would occur 22 times to empty a basket that accommodated 25 pounds of clippings.
Clippings and thatch Clippings are often thought to contribute to thatch build-up. This is not the case unless excessively long clippings are returned to turf. Thatch is composed primarily of turfgrass roots, crowns, rhizomes, sheaths, and stolons. These plant parts contain large amounts of lignin, a waxy substance that decomposes slowly. Turf clippings contain little lignin and are usually composed of at least 75 to 85% water. After drying, short clippings break down quickly. dual tiddler - one half opens with item from one group, other half holds comparable item from another group. item to item, such as comparing translations of verses of the tao te ching, or comparing application recommendations of fertilizer.
add tiddlysnip to existing tiddler. often, i am looking to group a bunch of different snips in one tiddler, such as the woodAsh one. what i want to do is eventually go through and have a list of different points of view of woodAsh application. if i had a tiddlysnip option to addto an existing tiddler, then my tiddler list somehow magically pops up...
of course there are a lot of tiddlers. but an inherent tiddler hierarchy scheme would make it a little more manageable. what if i open the toplevel tiddler(tag), such as techBlog, and i click one of the 'tiddlers tagged 'techBlog' ', and that tiddler opens up OVER the same window. like in the window, sort of. and if i click a link in that tiddler, then it opens up overtop, again. i visualize this as different bars at the top, or tabs, i suppose, or corner flaps, like you could click in the corner and corner tabs would appear (as if the corner of a page was folded, dog-eared).
the other thing about this potential hierarchy is that it would be backtrackable. what would be really rad would be if that path i just took could be saved somehow, (with colors?) and numerous pathways between tiddlers could be viewed (ever so slightly similar to the twitter thing that lines up your friends and their friends in that tetric block-maze view thing).
wanting to harvest URLs from an html page - wishing tiddlysnip could do so. or could my tiddlers automatically provide the linkcode to http docs?
as always, wishing all publishing endeavors offered a tagcloud. i don't just mean my thing here would have a tagcloud, or as in wordpress, all wordpress things can be sorted by tags, i mean webwide. webwide efforts. yup. webwide tagging. and i don't think it would be difficult. every publishing framework need only post all tags to a document readable by a tagreader. which i suppose is as simple as a bot. maybe there are some bots wandering around that are not too busy and could read tags.
so then each publishing framework need only have an interface that reads the changes to the tagreader. tap into the cloud.
and then, THEN, things will go crazy. cos tags will start to be self- and otherwise referential.
then all bets are off.
one immediate effect, here, would be that this here techBlog would be tag-referenced along with the pirateradio.tid techBlog, the bigtree.tid techblog. so i the user am assisting with development, on my own time, and in my own experience, and any techBlog readers can glean information or get ideas, from how i(we) the users (the people) use it.
improved useability. not functionality. the thing does not function. not without me. i use it.

i wish the tiddler would 'done' when i click return in the tag line. maybe.
i wish for the dimming of inactive tiddlers. or the lightening of the active tiddler.
i really wish the tiddlers' name tag did not list. so do other people.

wish the 'save changes' status window went away by itself.

A safe rate of wood ash application for a garden or lawn area would be twenty pounds per thousand square feet or a five-gallon pail full of wood ash. Twenty pounds of wood ash is equivalent to six pounds of ground limestone per thousand square feet. If the soil is in the proper pH range, this rate of application is considered appropriate for yearly treatments. After wood ash application, we should need no additional lime, with nitrogen and possibly phosphorous being the other plant nutrient requirements. The wood application will also supply potassium. We should mix the application of wood ash to the garden soil well.

Many gardeners like to use the ash from their fireplaces or wood stoves in their garden. While this practice is quite common, gardeners should be aware that wood ash will raise the pH of the soil (for 15 lb/100 sq ft application the pH can change from 4.0-6.5). If the soil pH is already 7.0 or greater adding wood ash is not recommended. Wood ash does contain some nutrients; in general hardwoods contain five times the nutrients as softwoods. Wood ash contains 20-50 percent calcium carbonate (a type of lime), 3-7 percent potassium carbonate (potash), and 8-20 percent phosphorus pentoxide (phosphorus). Ashes also contain trace elements of sodium, magnesium, iron, copper, zinc, manganese, boron, silicon, and sulfur. Wood ash will also promote nitrogen loss from ammonia-based fertilizers such as ammonium sulfate or ammonium nitrate. If you plan to add high-nitrogen fertilizers to your lawn, or garden, stop applying wood ash approximately one month before application.

Calcium is the most abundant element in wood ash and gives ash properties similar to agricultural lime. Ash is also a good source of potassium, phosphorus, and magnesium. In terms of commercial fertilizer, average wood ash would be about 0-1-3 (N-P-K). In addition to these macro-nutrients, wood ash is a good source of many micronutrients needed in trace amounts for adequate plant growth. Wood ash contains few elements that pose environmental problems. Heavy metal concentrations are typically low.

Field and greenhouse research confirms the safety and practicality of recycling wood ash on agricultural lands. Wood ash has a liming effect of between 8 and 90 percent of the total neutralizing power of lime, and can increase plant growth up to 45 percent over traditional limestone. The major constraints to land application of wood ash are transportation costs, low fertilizer analysis, and handling constraints. With ever-increasing disposal costs, land application of wood ash will probably be the disposal choice in the coming century as it results in savings for the industry, an opportunity for agriculture and conservation of our resources.
